Once again the Carriage Crossing Animal Hospital horseback ride “Trails for Farley 2014” beat the odds and had delightful weather. We are still tallying the funds raised for The Farley Fund but initial results are promising. Contact us if you’d like to donate to help financially disadvantaged pet owners keep their furry friends healthy.
We had an wonderful ride through the beautiful autumn weather. It did get a little exciting at times: Tiffany was nearly scraped off her horse by some low branches; Mara had to put her feet above her Fjord horse’s neck to keep her feet dry as the river was very high where they crossed it; and Jenny thanked Twilight for not killing her! (Twilight was one of the best behaved horses, Jenny was just nervous.)
The experienced riders may have complained about their hard saddles, but everyone agreed that the horses were a pleasure to ride. Our group was even allowed to trot this time, a new milestone for us, as the trail wasn’t too muddy, and our riders were more experienced this year.
Stay tuned for the prize drawing at the end of the month for the Farley gift basket. Names are placed in the drawing when you’re at our location and donate to The Farley Fund directly, or with a purchase that benefits the fundraiser. Be sure to enter the drawing soon by donating at our animal hospital!
