“The summer of 2014 will be known as the summer of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, when the world came to know ALS as a disease. This awareness led to support for ALS organizations that both help people living with ALS today, as well as facilitate research that will change the future of ALS.”
Thanksgiving was this past weekend so we thought it appropriate to share a story of thanks…
Above is the thank you letter we received for Carriage Crossing’s donation to help ALS find a treatment. Approximately 2 out of 100,000 Canadians are diagnosed with ALS and 80% die within 2-5 years of their diagnosis. We’re hoping the influx of money from the Ice Bucket Challenge helps the ALS organization get closer to their research goals so they can help the nearly 3000 Canadians currently living with ALS.
In case you missed it, below is the video of our own Dr. Mara Gerriets Ashby completing the ice bucket challenge.
